Stephen Chung, AIA, LEED AP is a registered architect and Principal of Stephen Chung, Architect.  His Boston-based studio focuses on small to mid-sized residential and hospitality projects.  This past year, Stephen was named one of Metropolitan Homes “Rising Stars” and profiled his residential projects. And In March 2009, Casas Internacional published a monograph dedicated to eleven of his residential projects.  Prior to having his own studio, he was Design Director of Urbanica.  The partnership with Kamran Zahedi was formed in 2001 and continued to 2008.  Stephen has also worked with Philippe Starck, and in the offices of Richard Meier and Partners in New York, and Machado Silvetti in Boston. He received his architecture degree from Harvard.

Stephen has taught design and drawing at several institutions, including Syracuse, Cornell, the Rhode Island School of Design, the University of Texas at Austin and Yale University. Most recently, he was a Visiting Critic at Northeastern University (Fall 2009).

In 2007, Stephen was selected to be host for “Greatest Spaces” with Brainbox Entertainment (Washington, D.C.) and shot a pilot for Travel Channel. Alas, the show was not picked up. But undeterred by the experience, Stephen soldiered on.

Stephen has appeared as on-air talent for many design programs on HGTV, the Fine Living Network and the Showtime Network. Most recently, he hosted a series of videos about architecture for the American Institute of Architects and is also the host of an upcoming video series for the publisher of Architect Magazine called “Architect Live”. Finally, Stephen is in development with The Idea Factory (Sacramento, CA) on a show for PBS that profiles the most provocative contemporary architecture. As host, Stephen will lead viewers on a tour of the world’s newest and most provocative architecture. www.coolspaces.tv
