Several years ago, Stephen was asked to be a guest on the HGTV show “Kitchens and Baths”. Despite a less than glowing tv debut (!), Stephen was invited to appear as guest expert on several other design shows for both HGTV and Fine Living Network. After one particular episode, he was approached by a casting agent and invited to audition for a host role for a design show. Intrigued by the thought, Stephen first decided that he needed to learn a little bit more about television before pursuing any host roles. He went on to study at the Media Performance Institute in Boston. Soon thereafter, he gained more experience as on-air talent in television commercials for Braun, Novell and Siemens.
In 2007, Stephen was selected to be host for “Greatest Spaces” with Brainbox Entertainment (Washington, D.C.) and shot a pilot for Travel Channel. In 2010, Stephen was featured on a show called “Showhouse” for SHOWTIME Network. He was one of several designers assigned to design a space in a New York penthouse inspired by one of the characters of a Showtime show. More recently, Stephen has hosted a video series for the American Institute of Architects called “Looking Forward” and is the studio host for a video series entitled “Architect Live” for Hanley-Wood.
Finally, Stephen is in development with The Idea Factory (Sacramento, CA) on a travel-based show on Architecture for PBS called “Cool Spaces: The Most Provocative Architecture of the 21st Century. As host, Stephen will lead viewers on a tour of the world’s newest and most dynamic architecture.
